16 August 2013, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (“Geely Group”), the leading Chinese automobile manufacturer, is excited to announce Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (“Geely Automobile”) export volumes reached 12,420 in July 2013, the first time it has achieved the largest number of exports among domestic automotive brands.
Geely Automobile’s total export volume from January to July 2013 was 62,861 units, an increase of 27% year on year, despite a slight year on year decline of export volumes of domestic automotive brands from January to July 2013, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. In terms of brands, Emgrand exported 35,559 units from January to July 2013. Emgrand EC7 was the best seller with export volumes of 32,342 units in the first seven months, up 126% over the same period last year. In addition, Emgrand was awarded with the Certificate for Exemption from Export Inspection granted by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) on August 2, the first brand to be awarded the certificate in China.
In terms of the highest sales by region, Geely Automobile exported 16,686 and 9,159 units to Russia and Ukraine respectively from January to July this year. At present, Geely Automobile’s overseas efforts are focused on key markets in Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and South America.
