Geely Design continues to play a pivotal role in the development of Geely’s current design language; with four global design studios employing just over 300 designers from 20 countries Geely is well placed to further its China inspired design language. This design language first appeared on the Geely GC9 and was part of Peter Horbury, Geely’s Vice President of Design plans to create vehicles that have a hint of their origins. The Geely Emgrand GS is another product to carry Peter Horbury’s design envision for future Geely products.
The Emgrand Crossover Concept which was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show has played a large part in the development of the final production vehicle with additional changes to the sheet metal work to give it a more vibrant flavor and the addition of black cladding to protect the vehicle against the dangers of the urban environment. Roof rails have been added
The Emgrand range has become a phenomenon domestically and internationally with just over 900,000units on the road since its launch in 2009, the first time a Chinese branded passenger vehicle has been able to gain such global sales traction.
